It would be necessary and option of unselect the Status Updated when you select one wrongly. For example clicking again in the status option and unselect the mark given to the element. Because know in Field, when you mark any element you cannot go back and unselect the status.
Thanks for submitting the idea. It is on our near-term roadmap to implement an additonal Save button so user has a chance to confirm the status changes before it is saved.

With Resource Statusing it is now possible to withdraw a status of a model element by selecting and setting a previous status, therefore I have set this Idea as "Implemented" however please reach out if you have any questions.
