Expose clearing cache in Field app to non technical users

Clearing the cache and updating the data usually solves random glitches in the Field App. There are potentially a lot of non technical savvy users that would struggle to get to the relevant menu as is (More-Settings-General-clear cache). It will be beneficial to provide easier access to the Clear cache button whilst preventing accidental use. On ways could be to have a button with "Problems using the app?" and on clicking to take the user to another screen with the Clear cache option.

    Hi Luke,

I had to go penultimate many times (and few nuclear) to resolve simple issues with the app losing connectivity or functionality. If that resolves it for the end user then it should be visible and accessible. At the age of high speed internet reseeding the app does not take long but keeps it working.

    My 2pence. Kind regards,

    Kiril

    Hello Kiril,

I just wanted to follow up after my internal discussions.

At this stage, we won't be pursuing this particular piece of development as "clearing the cache" should only be considered as the penultimate option to resolve an error in the app (the final "nuclear" option being uninstalling and reinstalling the app).

Our development focus moving forward will be split between new features/workflows in the app and maintenance and stabilisation of the app, with the latter resulting in the reduction of errors/glitches which will mean the users will not have to use the "clear the cache" option in the future.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or comments.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

    Hello Kiril,

Many thanks for raising this Idea.

Please let me discuss this with my colleagues in the development team and then come back to you.

    Kind regards,

    Luke
