At the moment, in the status update mode, after user selects a status, it will be assigned to the selected 3D(resources). However there is no way to undo the assignments if user regrets the action.
The workaround (but not really a real workaround) will be for user to discard the sync.
Thanks for submitting the idea. This has been implemented as "Save changes" button and was released!
